More about her books
Both te reo Māori and English are presented in one redesigned edition. Winner of the Wright Family Foundation Te Kura Pounamu Award in the 2019 NZ Book Awards for Children & Young Adults, Te Haka a Tānerore tells the legend of how the haka came to be such an important part of Māori heritage.
Based around the story of hapū Ngāti Tū Māia, The Standing Strong House revolves around multiple generations, weaving their stories together in a way that celebrates tīpuna, mokopuna, and kaitieki. Reina Kahukiwa provides both the English and the te reo Māori text making this a wonderful reo resource for all.
